What could be better than a Parisian market? An organic one of course, or I should say “biologique”. I find in Canada every musician and artist likes to use the word organic to describe their latest work or creation, without the word having any meaning close to what they are trying to say. I wonder if french artists use biologique in the same way…
Anyways, back to the market! After some french toast with Canadian Maple syrup (it’s the same price here as in Canada, honest), we spent father’s day morning at the Raspail market. The range of produce, meats, fish, flowers, and dairy products was outstanding! Even though it was all organic, the prices were competitive with the non-organic produce at the other markets.
It was a cold day in Paris so our planned picnic got moved inside and instead we went for a late afternoon espresso and dessert. The cafe’s were still fairly busy as there’s not much else open on Sundays in Paris. We’ll be having a nice dinner at home tonight as Carrie gets ready for week 2 at Le Cordon Bleu. We do have some nice beer for dinner tonight, bought at Le Grande Epicerie de Paris. Their beer selection was quite good, although the Fin du Monde (from Quebec) was 4 euros/bottle!!! The following was purchased mainly based on their cool labels (and I couldn’t resist drinking a beer called “the Cobra”).
Best father’s I have ever celebrated…
