Parc de la Villette is an urban revitalization project which has transformed this area of Paris into a huge park that surounds the canal de l’Ourcq. Above is the science museum with an Imax theatre inside the reflective sphere called the “Geode”. There’s also an old submarine called the Argonaute on land that you can climb through.
On the other side of the canal is a large greenspace with this fantastic bike wheel sculpture. There’s also a huge kids play area with zip lines and….. SWINGS!!!! They even have the type for babies, unbelievable! It’s called Jardin des Vents et des Dunes.
Ak had a great time on the walk, finding her new favourite toy, Mr. Pine-Cone, which is great because on the way there she lost her previous favourite toy, her old left shoe that she had outgrown… (it’s ok, we lost the right one weeks ago…).
Continuing on is Cite de la Musique with it’s music museum and la Grande Halle, a former cattle warehouse that has been transformed into a Concert Hall. I wonder how long it took them to get rid of the smell…
