We arrived in Greece a few days ago, unfortunately they closed all the useful subway stops and our bus let us off early as they were trying to stay away from the hundreds of riot police. In the end no riot, but it made for an extra long walk to our hotel.
Last day in London
28 FebOur last day in London, and what a day! After C and AK were nearly run over by a dump truck first thing this morning, things got much much better… We visited Boxpark, a shopping area made out of old shipping containers. Afterwards we had an amazing curry lunch on Brick Lane, followed by a stroll along the Thames and a delicious brownie and terrible coffee from Konditor and Cook. Tomorrow it’s off to Athens for the third last country of our travels…

London day 2…
26 FebWe spent our second day in London meeting a friend and having a “full English” breakfast at Spitalfields market. In the afternoon I saw an incredible exhibit on Terrance Conran at the Design museum. Another nice day with lots of sunshine.

Last day in Lisbon
21 FebOur last day in Portugal! Hard to believe we are done another country already! Today we went to a fantastic flea market that sold just about everything. You know it’s going to be good when in the first two stalls you could buy an accordion, and a harpoon gun… Lots more tram riding and a visit to the MUDE, the Lisbon design museum. Tomorrow it’s off to England.
Sintra
21 FebYesterday we took a quick day trip to Sintra, only about 20 minutes outside of Lisbon by one of the local commuter trains. It’s a nice small town that must be crazy with tourists in the summertime. We spent the day walking around the small streets and visiting a palace and castle. We tried the local specialty, Ginja. It’s a cherry liquor served in a chocolate cup, all for 1 euro!
