Paris Walks #50: Chateau de Vincennes

18 Jul

Another sunny Sunday in Paris!  We took the opportunity for yet another picnic (becoming a weekly thing…) and headed out to Chateau de Vincennes.  The castle was built in the 14th Century and features a moat (no monsters in it), and a dungeon!  Unfortunately we were running late and didn’t have time to poke around the castle.

We headed off to Lac des Minimes, a small lake with several little islands.  It was more impressive than some of the other lakes and parks we’ve been to recently.  We’re starting to see some of the faults with these Paris Walks.  Some are out of date, some aren’t nearly as interesting as they sound, and almost all of the maps are drawn on a different scale, so you never really know how long it’s going to take you.  Today was one of the small scale maps apparently as we barely made it home in time for a Grandma/Grandpa Skype call from Regina.
