Unfortunately, I can’t think of a lot to say about this one because honestly, we didn’t really like it!? Hard to believe that there is a Parisian dessert out there that we just did not enjoy but it’s true, one does exist. On the bright side, I learned to create a fairly interesting looking cake that could be many flavours other than chestnut.
The best part, I learned to use an airbrush to spray chocolate over the surface…pretty fun! Inside, the dome consists of three tiered layers of hazelnut dacquoise with chestnut mousse in between.
Parisian love their marrons. You see creme de marrons in crepes and cones full of roasted beauties on the street. Sadly, I don’t think I would make the chestnut version again but the same idea in chocolate? Yes, please!
