Essaouira

1 Feb

We decided to take a quick trip out of Marrakech for the day. There are many day trips available, but most don’t work with 2 year olds (camel trek and overnight camp in the Sahara?). We chose to head to Essaouria, a coastal town that I would describe as a run down Marrakech. It was quite picturesque, and we enjoyed that the salespeople were hardly pushy at all. In Marrakech you walk quickly and avoid eye contact with the salesmen or else you’ll never get rid of them (I swear one guy followed us 2 blocks, leaving his store completely unattended). Anyways, today was nice, AK loved the beach and went in the water up to her ankles. The bus ride was quite long but lots of interesting scenery along the way.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about Essaouira, considering a trip there myself because flights are cheap. Great post!
